About the Author
A 30-year public relations and marketing communication expert, Merry has founded two companies. Most recently, she started DataDriven MarCom, Inc. (www.datadrivenmarcom.com) to help B2B marketers measure the effectiveness of their communications. Working with database developers, she created a web database tool that helps marketers capture and maintain the data they need to determine ROI (return on investment).
In 1990, Merry founded one of the first integrated marketing communication firms, Elrick Business Communications, Inc. (EBC)
Her clients included divisions of BP, GE and Siemens for whom she created strategic communication plans and led creative teams to produce award-winning work.
Prior to founding EBC, Merry created communication programs for several multi-million dollar B2B accounts as vice president of a Chicago ad agency. Before that she managed advertising and promotion for a Fortune 500 company.
Merry is the author of numerous articles about integrated marketing communication, measurement and branding. The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) selected her as a thought leader to contribute to IABC branding and measurement blogs.
An Addy, Tower, Pro-Comm, Tranny, Spectra and Silver Quill award winner, Merry created the first nationwide broadcast and print campaigns for Wendy’s Old-Fashioned Hamburgers.
Merry is a former member of the board of directors of IABC’s District 4, a past president of the Chicago Chapter of IABC, a member of BMA (Business Marketing Association) and MENG (Marketing Executive Networking Group). She is a Certified Business Communicator (CBC), a BMA designation of professional excellence.
